Terms of Service
These terms govern use of the hosted OIT Medical Research MCP website, connection service, account controls, and research tools.
Acceptance
By connecting to or using the hosted service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the hosted service.
Service description
The service provides read-only tools for searching medical literature, retrieving eligible metadata and lawful open-access text, exploring citations and biomedical annotations, and discovering or querying bounded rows from public Data.CMS.gov datasets.
Research use only
The service supports research and information retrieval. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, emergency services, legal advice, or a substitute for professional clinical judgment. Seek qualified medical care for health decisions and emergency services for urgent concerns.
Accounts and access
You are responsible for activity performed through your connected MCP clients and for protecting access to your browser session and optional provider credentials. You may revoke clients or delete hosted account data from the account page.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service to violate law, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, bypass paywalls or access controls, obtain private patient or beneficiary records, submit credentials or sensitive personal data as research queries, interfere with service operation, evade rate limits, or attempt unauthorized access to systems or data.
Third-party information and licenses
Results originate from NCBI PubMed and PubMed Central, Europe PMC, Crossref, Unpaywall, Data.CMS.gov, and linked publishers or repositories. Their records, full text, licenses, availability, and policies control your use of that material. The service does not grant additional rights to third-party content and does not bypass publisher restrictions.
Accuracy and availability
Research metadata, automated annotations, citation relationships, access indicators, and public CMS data may be incomplete, delayed, or incorrect. You are responsible for checking primary sources before relying on results. The service may enforce request limits and may be changed, suspended, or discontinued without guaranteeing uninterrupted availability.
Open-source software
The independently deployable source code is offered under the MIT License. That software license does not replace these terms for use of the hosted service or grant rights to third-party research content.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent permitted by law, the hosted service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from use of or inability to use the service, reliance on results, or third-party content and services.
Suspension and termination
Access may be limited or terminated when necessary to protect the service, comply with law, address abuse, or enforce these terms. You may stop using the service and delete hosted account data at any time.
Changes and contact
These terms may be updated as the service changes. Continued use after updated terms are published means you accept the revised terms. Questions may be sent to research-api@ogleits.com.
